Lebanon stamps. 1925, album of Vaugirard Printing house in Paris (285x342mm), coated with marbled paper, containing thirteen pages in perforated cardboard with 528 color proofs stamps of Grand Liban and Syria. All values are in "Latin" only: Mouktara type 1.25P, Beyrouth type 25P, Zahle type 2P, Alep type 10P and Syrian Tax due type 0.50P. They were prepared by Helio Vaugirard print house, from pa...inter drawings Joseph de la Neziere, to test design and colors. All come direct from them specific matrix plate, with the stamps cut out and mounted on the perforated cardboard. Incredible painstaking work which results in a superb color palette for each page. Lebanon stamps. 1928 MNH Complete sheet of 2 Piastres, two steps overprinted in black and carmine (Yvert n 102). Arab overprint shifted upward by five millimeters. For this error and also for the bad inking of the overprint plate in carmine, most probably this sheet was put aside to be destroyed, wich fortunately did not happen giving us the only complete sheet of this stamp. As a curiosity: the Y...vert inserted this stamp in his 1930 catalog, practically one years after having already cataloged all other values of the series issued in 1928. EXTREMELY RARE. Ex C. The first, which bears the date of 2 March 1942 presents proof without value, with these manuscripts in the margin. The colors are: Emerald green, brown, orange, Prussian blue, violet-brown and dark-green. The second, which bears instead of the date of March 14, 1942 presents also without value proof, with... these manuscripts in the margin. The colors this time are: yellowish green, light brown, ocher, blue, violet-brown and green. All the specimens are slightly larger than the stamps issued, as reported by Kaczmarczyk. VERY RARE. Ex M. Approval handwriting by Mrs. Kettaneh on the back of the accepted sketches cardboard "dacord Le 21 Septembre 1956" and his signature (Michel n 572/3 and 576/7). The third, certainly suggestive but not... representative like the other two, was not accepted. A piece of the young's Lebanon history with one of its most characteristic artistic events.
