Lebanon British office. Forerunner mail, sent from the American Press in Beirut, attested by the linear seal in green, already known used in 1868. The envelope was forwarded to the Italian Postal Office in Alexandria, Egypt, and from there on 5 March 1870 to Genova, Italy. On front side also the forwarder's seal in Alexandria. Lebanon British office. Cover sent from Beirut on 3 March 1886 to USA via London (16 March 86). Franked by 2½p stamp killed by cancel recorded on Cedar Catalog at fig 28. Part of flap missing but manuscript note attested that "Arrived May 8th 1886". RARE THIS CANCEL ON BRITISH STAMPS UNOVERPRINTED (10 pts on Cedar catalog).
