At the time, there were actually two officers and fourteen soldiers who were members of this French military detachment in Mecca. Franked for 1/8 of Piastre orange stamp cancelled by Mecca al Mukarrama CDS. EXTREMELY RARE COVER. |

Legalized with Court Registration stamps by pair and single 100q green with UNRECORDED HANDSTAMP "madina al mounawara" plus indecipherable words (Thoden n type RCR 9 unrecorded). Also pair of 1q dull red, pair of 20q brown-red and UNRECORDED 50q dark purple-red all with Je...ddah Provisional overprint (Thoden n RCR24, RCR27 and unrecorded 50q). Plus flat-rate Documentary stamp 20p scarlet with UNRECORDED HANDSTAMP "madina al mounawara" plus indecipherable words (Thoden n type RF18 RF30a). On the back Proportional Documentary stamp of 10q dull vermilion with the same previous handstamp "madina al mounawara" (Thoden n type RQ8) and Railway tax stamp 10q purple and dullviolet-blue (Thoden n RR7), both stamps damaged.
