By affixing the two Egyptian localities postmarks of Suez Canal it is interesting to observe that according to the hours dater in the two postmarks (7:00 AM and 3:30 PM) that the Suez Canal was crossed in about 8 hours.... Yemen. Censored cover sent from HODEIDA on 13/8/1914 to Triest at that time Austrian territory. The day before on 12/8/1914, war was declared between Great Britain and Austria so this cover passing by Port Said on 19/8/1915 was censored by paper label showing "OPENED UNDER MARTIAL LAW" and violet seal "PASSED BY CENSUR". Yemen. Ottoman censored cover sent from Hodeida on 13/8/1914 to Triest, Austria. Franked for 1P, killed by "HUDEYDA 2" (Isfila type 9). Transit of Port Taufic postmark on 18/8/1914 applied on back. Probably in the same Egyptian port was opened and controlled in the British censorship office, which also applies the paper band with the inscription "OPENED UNDER MARTIAL LAW" and the violet linear mar...k "PASSED BY CENSOR". Another Important paper witness of postal service between Turkey and Austria that was already in war with England that control Suez Canal. Signed B. Longo.
