After Samoa he would go to Vancouver to start organizing the North Pole expedition which he would do in 1900. The cover was franked with 5 pence red (Michel n 18) killed by dc APIA - SAMOA 1/1/1896, on back dark-violet-brown sealing wax with... head of a Samoan king, shield and initials FERT of Princely House of Savoy.
